In 2014, after executing a signature cocktail menu for a large wedding, her work was acknowledged in Southern Bride Magazine. It inspired her to extend her services beyond the occasional gathering. This was the impetus for The Little Barmaid, LLC, both a company and a fictional force of nature armed with a Hawthorne strainer and the uncanny ability to effect good times through responsible imbibing!
“Whether it’s the Manhattan, the obscure kümmel-based Vowel, or one as yet invented, the best cocktail is a well-balanced cocktail. Sweet, savory, bitter, spicy; flavors all working in harmony so that no one element overpowers the other. Balance is life’s lovely lilt.”
Balance is what led Cydnee to become a drinks consultant. She began bartending while a student at the University of Georgia and continued to work “behind the stick” after moving to New York in 2007. Her love and knowledge of the spirits industry as well as her background as a journalist equipped her to write about the ever-evolving culture of cocktails for several print and online publication including Paste Magazine, Chilled Magazine, ADANAI and Thirstie’s The Craft.
Most recently she’s begun co-hosting a podcast as the resident spirits expert for Inside Tailgating. Cydnee's grown accustomed to designing inspired and inventive drink recipes for bars, restaurants, brands, family, friends and future friends alike. She draws a great sense of pride from watching others enjoy her labors of love.
